 The following are the crimes reported in Tumkur District during the last 24 hrs as at 1600 hrs on 28/08/2008.

Murder: 01

(1)   A case under murder has been registered in Hebbur Police Station Crime No. 126/08 U/s 302 IPC. On 26/08/2008 at 2300 hrs. at Shanthasheela’s house at Hebbur, Tumkur Taluk one Dhananjaya(42) assaulted Shanthasheela(60) W/o Puttaiah R/o Hebbur, Tumkur Taluk by hands in connection with family dispute,as a result she died on the spot.

Burglary: 01

(1)   A case of Burglary has been registered in Madhugiri Police Station Crime No. 111/08 U/s 457, 380 IPC. On 26/08/2008 at night some unknown culprits gained entry into Government high school at D.V Halli, Madhugiri Taluk through window and committed theft of 69 cooking oil packets, carton and key bunches in all worth Rs. 5,000/-.

Ordinary Theft: 01

(1)   A case of theft has been registered in Chelur Police Station crime No. 98/08 u/s 379 IPC. On 26/08/2008 at night in Kadaiah’s land at Appanahalli village, Gubbi Taluk unknown culprits committed theft of submersible electric cable worth of Rs. 7,000/-

Road Traffic Accidents: 03

Fatal: 01

(1)   A case of Fatal Road accident has been registered in Tumkur Rural Police Station Crime No. 273/08 U/s 279, 304 (a) IPC. On 27/08/2008 at 0100 hrs. on NH-206 road near Bheemasandra one driver of lorry bearing Reg. No. KA-14-9952 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against unknown pedestrian, as a result he died on the spot.

Non-Fatal: 02

(1)   A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Tiptur Town Police Station Crime No.193/08 u/s 279 337 IPC. On 27/08/2008 at 1400 hrs. near Bandihalli gate one rider of motor cycle bearing Reg. No. KA-44-E-3184 rode his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against auto rickshaw bearing Reg. No.KA-44-1123, as a result auto rickshaw driver Manjunath and another person sustained injuries.

(2)   A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Huliyar Police Station Crime No. 84/08 u/s 279 337 IPC R/w 134(a)(b), 187 IMV Act. On 26/08/2008 at 2330 hrs. near Chikkabidere one driver of a lorry drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against motor cycle KA-44-E-6646, as a result rider Chandramohana and Pillion rider Basavaraju R/o Kurubarahalli village sustained injuries.

Hurts: 02

(1)   A case under hurt along with theft has been registered in Koratagere Police Station Crime No. 182/08 u/s 323,504,506 IPC. On 26/08/2008 at 1500 hrs. at Bhakthrahalli village one D. Bhadraiah and Subbamma abused one Srinivasa B.M R/o Bhakathrahalli village in filthy language and assaulted with hands and also threatened his life in connection with a land dispute.

(2)   A case under hurt has been registered in Nonavinakere Police Station Crime No. 67/08 U/s 323, 324, 504 R/w 34 IPC. On 26/08/2008 at 1800 hrs. near Doddapapaiah’s house at Ramdihalli Bhovicolony one Mudlappa, Jayamma, Latha all are R/o Ramdihalli village abused Krishnamurthy, Padma and  Nagesha in filthy language and assaulted with roof tiles and sickle in connection with a scuffle.

(1)   A case under SC/ST Atrocity Act has been registered in Hebbur Police Station Crime No.126/08 U/s 143, 427, 354, 506, R/w 149 IPC and 3(1) class (3) (10) SC/ST (PA) Act-1989. On 27/08/2008 at 1630 hrs. Near Doddamma’s hut at Lingikatte village, Tumkur Taluk one Lokesha and 06 others formed unlawful assembly abused one Doddamma (50) W/o Bailaiah R/o Lingikatte village, Tumkur Taluk by touching her caste and threatened her life, damaged hut, household articles and also outraged her modesty by pulling her in connection with a scuffle.

Others: 01

(1)   A case under Mischief, causing damage along with Intentional insult with intention to provoke breach of peace has been registered in Kunigal Police Station Crime No. 236/08 u/s 143, 427, 506, 149 IPC. On 26/08/2008 at night near Hareshankara mata at Kithnagamangala, Kunigal Taluk one Srinivasa and 10 others forming unlawful assembly all are R/o at Kithnagamangala, Kunigal Taluk damaged school building worth Rs. 2 lakh and threatened life of Sri Siddarama chaithanya swamiji R/o Hareshankara mata at Kithnagamangala, Kunigal Taluk in connection with a property dispute.

Unnatural Death Report: 02

(1)   A case under Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Pavagada Police Station UDR No.19/08 U/s 174 CRPC on 26/08/2008 at 1100 hrs. one Lakshmamma W/o Muganarasappa R/o Dyavaiahna playa, Pavagada Taluk was bitten by a Snake while working in her land. Where she declared dead while shifting to hospital.

(2)   A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Thilakpark Police Station UDR No. 19/08 U/s 174 CRPC. On 26/08/2008 between 1800 hrs. and 1830 hrs. One Bettaswamy R/o Dwaranahalli village, Turuvekere Taluk committed suicide by hanging in Vijaya Hospital ward at Tumkur due to illness.
