The following are the crimes reported in Tumkur District during the last 24 hrs as at 1600 hrs on 20/11/2008.

Motor Vehicle Theft: 01

(1) A case of MV Theft has been registered in Turuvekere Police Station Crime no. 179/08 u/s 379 IPC On 16/11/2008 at 2000 hrs some unknown culprits committed theft of a motor cycle bearing Reg. No. KA-11-L-4465 belongs to Kumara(43) R/o Muthugadahalli, Turuvekere Taluk which was parked in front of MBC Provision stores, Turuvekere Taluk. The value of the motor cycle is worth Rs. 20,000/-.

Crime against Women: 01

(1)   A case under abetment to suicide has been registered in Tumkur Rural Police Station Crime No. 351/08 u/s 306 IPC. On 18/11/2008 at 1300 hrs at Government school, Chinivaradahalli village one Doddamanni cooker of in a school committed suicide by consuming poison due to mental harassment by one Govindappa and 5 others.

Road Traffic Accidents: 02

Fatal: 02

(1) A case of Fatal Road accident has been registered in Traffic Police Station Crime No. 177/08 U/s 279, 337, 304(a) IPC and 134[A][B] IMV Act. On 18/11/2008 at 2325 hrs on NH-206 road in Tumkur town one driver of car bearing Reg. No. KA-02-MB-6755 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against auto rickshaw bearing Reg. No. KA-06-A-5403 and motor cycle bearing Reg. No. KA-04-EU-4843, as a result auto rickshaw inmate Manjunatha died at spot and other inmates and also motor cycle rider and pillion rider sustained injuries.

(2) A case of Fatal Road accident has been registered in Tumkur Rural Police Station Crime No. 350/08 U/s 279, 304(a) IPC. On 18/11/2008 at 2230 hrs in front of primary school at Guluru village one driver of auto rickshaw bearing Reg. No. KA-06-B-654 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and lost his control vehicle capsized, as a result inmate Jabiulla died at spot.

Non-Fatal: 02

(1) A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Kora Police Station Crime No. 121/08 U/s 279, 337 IPC. On 19/11/2008 at 0630 hrs near Kora one driver of lorry bearing Reg. No. KA-16-A-5864 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against car bearing Reg. No. KA-05-3812, as a result car driver Suresha inmate Ramachandrappa and Devanagesha sustained injuries.

(2) A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Kunigal Police Station Crime No. 320/08 U/s 279, 337 IPC. On 19/11/2008 at 1550 hrs in front of Parijatha hotel one driver of lorry bearing Reg. No. KA-02-C-6150 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against bicycle, as a result cyclist Inayathulla R/o kote, Kunigal sustained injuries.

1)    A case under attempt to murder has been registered in Amruthur Police Station Crime No. 169/08 u/s 307 IPC on 19/11/2008 at 1100 hrs near Chakenahalli village one Shivanna R/o Chakenahalli, Kunigal Taluk attempted to murder one Gururaja @ Nagesha (30) R/o Amruthur, Kunigal Taluk by a deadly weapon in connection with scuffle.
